About the 5 Moments*
When? Clean your hands before touching a patient when approaching him/her.
Why? To protect the patient against harmful germs carried on your hands.
The concept of the World Health Organization WHO "My 5 Moments for Hand Hygiene" defines the key moments when health-care workers should perform hand hygiene. By clicking on the moments you learn more about each moment.
The concept does not forsee health-care workers to perform hand hygiene twice in a row but to understand the indication. Means that I do not have to disinfect my hands after touching a patient (Moment 4) and again before touching the next patient (Moment 1) - I only have to do it once. Hands have to be washed only when visibly soiled.
B. Braun offers globally a wide range of carefully harmonised products for an all-embracing hand hygiene concept.
The concept includes cleansing, disinfection, care and protection with optimised product compositions, suitable for different skin conditions.
Private Organisations for Patient Safety (POPS)
B. Braun is part of POPS, an initiative of the World Health Organization (WHO). The goal is to achieve a reduction in health-care associated infections through improvements in hand hygiene, based on the overall aim of the WHO Clean Care is Safer Care Programme.
